IRS Conference: Managing Absence and Attendance

5th November 2008, Cavendish Conference Centre, London

Why you should attend

The latest figures from the Health and Safety Executive show that sickness absence caused by work is the highest in four years while the days lost to sickness absence overall, according to the latest CBI research, are only slightly down on previous years with a cost to the economy of more than £13bn. At the same time there has never been a more compelling business case for employers to intervene to cut sickness absence rates with increasing evidence of what tools and approaches are effective. In response, the  government has launched a new national strategy which aims to retain people in work and cut the numbers on incapacity benefit.

Named organisations and experts will look at the powerful evidence base for capturing and monitoring absence data, early intervention, vocational rehabilitation for the long term sick and, perhaps most crucially, how to empower line managers to deal with absence more effectively. This is a must-attend event for all managers and professionals involved in managing absence and attendance.
