IRS Masterclass: Working with Trade Unions
Formal trade union negotiations
10th July 2008, Mayfair Conference Centre
This masterclass is fully booked. Please telephone 0208 652 4795 for details of the next IRS Trade Unions masterclass.
Despite the feeling that working with trade unions is going out of fashion, UK employers could still leverage much more from their relations with trade unions by properly defining and implementing a relationship that works. The design and implementation is not of course straight-forward. After doing all the thinking about what you want, how do you make it work? And unlike many other aspects of management, this one involves working with organisations that may not share the same view as you do.
This masterclass combines an update on the policies and procedures you would need to employ when working with trade unions and explores the practical side of how employers can make the relationship work for them.
Masterclass Highlights
• An update on the latest policies and procedures union
•Explore ways to maintain a good working relationship with your nominated trade union
• Learn how to run a negotiation
• Best practices in during negotiations to avoid unnecessary disputes
• Participate in a mock negotiation
Masterclass Trainers
The day will be led Simon Marsh, Director of Employment Relations, Chemical Industries Association and run with the aid of Vince Toman, Barrister and Sean Dempsey, Solicitor, from Lewis Silkin.
