IRS Masterclass:
Organisational Resilience Through Change

Day 1: 24 September, London

Change has become ‘the hallmark of organisational reality’ and it is becoming increasingly important for organisations to explore and develop greater awareness of the emotional and psychological impact of change and transition.

Research has shown that 70% of all change projects fail to realise their project objectives because they fail to win the hearts and minds of the people involved. Of those that are successful, 90% state that their success can be attributed to how they managed the transition.  During tough economic climates, the stakes are ever higher and repercussions of this failure are even more pervasive.

Drawing on Lane4’s ongoing performance psychology and recent change research, our interactive workshop will address this issue, providing you with the opportunity to:

• Explore the human side of change – what can be done to engage employees in the process?
• Gain practical insights into how organisational change really happens
• Understand how organisations, teams and individuals can develop the resilience to not only manage change, but to thrive on it

Facilitated by Lane4 Director, Dr. Austin Swain and Head of Organisational Development, Tom Smith, the workshop will provide case study examples and tools and techniques to help maximise performance on both an organisational and individual level.

IRS Conference:
Innovator, Advisor or Facilitator: The Role of HR in the Process of Organisational Change

Tools and techniques to enable HR to have a positive impact on change management in the workplace

Day 2:  25 September, 2008, Lewis Media  Centre, London

According to a study by Personnel Today’s sister publication Employment Review change management skills are a key part of the job for HR professionals. HR is ideally placed to lead change, assess the impact of change, communicate with and support employees but with only 46% being involved from the planning stage and 40% initiating change many have to take on the reactionary role.  Evidence suggests that success rates of reorganisations remains low, is it time that HR professionals moved their role forward from facilitator or advisor to innovator and leader for change in their organisation?

This conference will discuss the role that HR currently takes in the process of change and where it should be placed in order for change management programmes to succeed. Delegates will also be able to examine the various tools and techniques that they will need to employ in order to lead change in their organisations.
