Dr Adrian Chojnacki, Consultant occupational health physician, and Vice President of Employee Health, GSK UK
At GSK UK Adrian is a part of Corporate HR, and in addition to responsibilities for the health and well-being of employees, is part of GSKs "Total Reward" Benefits and Compensation steering group and has worked with Organizational Leadership and Development at GSK to bring health into the new GSK Leadership framework. Adrian is a "Corporate Athlete" and an accredited trainer of Energy and Engagement from the Human Performance Institute. Adrian's mission is to unlock the potential of employees to allow success in all dimensions of their lives.
Rebecca Harding-Hill, Partner, Berwin Leighton Paisner
Rebecca specialises in all aspects of employment law. She has particular expertise in high value litigation, involving discrimination and whistle-blowing, and represents clients in the Employment Tribunal and High Court. Rebecca advises clients on restructuring and managing business change. She is particularly also experienced in issues concerning ill-health of employees, related grievances and litigation. Rebecca has used mediation successfully to resolve issues arising in the workplace and during the litigation process.
Her clients include organisations in financial services, information technology and manufacturing. In the Legal 500 Publication, 2007 edition a client was quoted as saying that Rebecca Harding-Hill is recommended for ‘legally complex cases which benefit from high-level strategising, particularly those which are seemingly unsolvable’. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association management committee.
Nic Marks, Founder of the Centre for Well-being, NEF
Nic Marks is Founder of the centre for well-being and has led the well-being programme at nef since 2001. He undertakes innovative research in the use of well-being indicators in public policy environments and has worked in policy fields including sustainable development, health and social care, education, culture and the arts, and employment. He has experience of devising methodologies to measure well-being, and statistical and analytical skills. He is regular public speaker and holds a number of advisory positions. He was the lead author of nef’s innovative Happy Planet Index, a global index of human well-being and environmental impact. He is an advisor to the Government of Bhutan, working with the Centre for Bhutanese Studies, on how to construct indicators for assessing Gross National Happiness (GNH). Nic has a degree in Management Studies from Cambridge University, a Master’s degree in Operational Research from Lancaster University and a postgraduate diploma in Change Agent Skills and Strategies from the Human Potential Research Group at the University of Surrey. He is also a qualified psychotherapist and a member of the International Society for Quality of Life Studies - ISQOLS
Caroline Raymond FRSA, Director, Stress in Perspective Ltd.
Since entering the field of stress management 22 years ago Caroline has lectured throughout the UK and also in Europe and acted as a consultant to many industry leaders. Caroline has personally contributed to the HSE guidance on work-related stress, provided expert feedback on the HSE Management Standards and participated as an “expert” in the 2007 HSE Masterclasses.
Caroline founded Stress in Perspective in 1992 to provide ethical and professional stress management advice and bespoke training programmes. In 2001 the company was approached by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health to design and run their professional development courses on work-related stress. These programmes have received praise from the HSE.

Dr Wolfgang Seidl is a medical doctor with in-depth training in medical psychology and psychosomatic medicine. He holds a Master’s degree in Psychiatry, Philosophy & Society and is also a BACP accredited counsellor. An internationally recognised expert and sought-after speaker, Dr Seidl has published and presented many papers on the assessment of Employee Assistance Programmes, the psychology of wellbeing, trauma, stress management and bio-psycho-social health care.
Paul Smith, Head of Health Services at Kent Police.
Paul Smith has worked for Kent Police for the 15 years, initially as Head of Welfare & Counselling Services but moved into his current role in 2001. He has a background in counselling psychology, specialising in stress and post traumatic stress issues. The move to his present post coincided with doing an MBA and concentrating on strategic delivery of health and well-being programmes for officers and staff in Kent Police.

Noel O’Reilly is editor of Occupational Health magazine, the leading monthly publication on workplace health issues, and conference adviser to IRS Events. He has previously been editor of Personnel Today, the weekly news magazine for HR specialists. Under his editorship the magazine won several awards including the Periodical Publishing Association Award for Best Editorial Campaign in 2003. He was previously deputy editor of Doctor, a news weekly for GPs. Ivan retains an academic post as Emeritus Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Manchester. He has held visiting academic posts in the USA (Michigan State University), Singapore (National University of Singapore) and Australia (Queensland University of Technology).
