Fit Business
- Unilever's Fit Business is a workplace health initiative which integrates their nutrition expertise, knowledge of brands and marketing, and occupational health programmes to provide an engaging environment in which their employees can pro-actively make healthy lifestyle choices.
- During 2009, the programme was piloted at two of Unilever largest sites in the UK – their head office in Leatherhead, Surrey, and at a large manufacturing base at Port Sunlight, Wirral. In total, around 2,000 employees have benefited from it. Fit Business initiatives were run as quarterly campaigns, each with a different theme aligned to Government health campaigns in order to amplify their impact. These were underpinned by key initiatives including nutrition information in staff restaurants and health checks.
- Fit Business has been independently evaluated by the Institute of Public Policy Research, to establish the most effective elements of the programme and how Unilever can extend it to other sites in the UK and Ireland.
